On Sept 29th our M/HISG students celebrated Language Day. They recorded a short video saying’ Hello’ in their native languages, named flags of European countries and competed in a word search quiz. However, it was learning some Arabic phrases that proved to have been a real challenge for them:) Since language is not the only way of communication, our students also learnt some basics of flag semaphore, texting abbreviations, body language and Morse code. Although decoding a message written by means of dots and dashes was not easy, Jurek G9 was the first person to do it. You can also have a go at it:

On Wednesday, taking advantage of last sunny days, Gr.7-11 took part in rowing activities at Sport University water-sport centre in Gdansk (AZS AWFiS). Pupils had a chance to spend 2 hours kayaking on one of Wistula branches (Martwa Wisła) that passes through our city. Later, under watchful eye of Maciej Łasicki (rowing champion from Barcelona Olympic games) who also supervised us on the water, we took part in short training and race on the rowing machines. Everyone had a great time - some water splashing between kayaking teams added even more fun to our day.

On Wednesday grades 4-6 and 7-12, had a sailing farewell to summer. Younger students were sailing on Optimist boats at the National Sailing Center ....... The training took place a part of the Maritime Education project. Both groups had great fun, fantastic weather and favorable wind. The smiling faces of the students spoke for themselves. What's more, in the centre we met our special friends Paweł Kołodziński and Łukasz Przybytek who visited our school during a sports day, in May. They just finished training and gave us a moment of their time to talk and take a picture. It certainly was a good day!
