Yesterday Grade 7 went on a trip to a parrot zoo and the beach. Our students had the opportunity to feed, touch and learn a lot about nature, as well as the habits and preferences of many species of birds. The parrots were very co-operative with our students, gracefully allowing to be pet, and even perching on their shoulders. The culmination of the trip was a nice lunch together over pizza.

Grade 7-12 students took part in a Chemistry Workshop about elements and their reactions organized by the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Gdańsk. It was a great adventure and opportunity for students, because they could work by themselves in the real laboratory and conduct a lot of interesting experiments.

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world, also in our school. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14. ISG students have been learning about this irrational number by calculating π by themselves and taking part in games and competitions about it, such as Kahoot or trying to remember as many π digits as possible in 3 minutes. Jerzy (grade 9) broke the record -he memorised 38 numbers! Congratulations!

While International Women’s Day is aimed mostly at inspiring women across the world and celebrating their achievements, there is still a strong call for gender parity.
The short videos attached, below are intended to help to raise social awareness of what it means to be a woman.

On 14 th of February we celebrated Heart Day in our school. The students could make a Valentine’s Day card and send it to someone in the schoool. Grades 1-6 also participated in our lovely games. They were playing the cupid game, fishing for hearts and even playing bingo. Everyone could also have their picture taken in our Valentine’s Day photo booth. The teachers that organized the event were: Karolina Żyra and Aleksandra Czyżykowska.
